Karon was born and raised right here in St. Louis. While life eventually took her around the country and back, she has always considered St. Louis her home. Karon’s affection for animals originated in her childhood where she was raised with dogs, cats, birds and even a pet turtle named Zippy. Her earliest memories are of snuggling, playing with and caring for her menagerie of pets.
Karon is a true animal lover who advocates for the prevention of cruelty to animals – giving a voice to the voiceless. She enthusiastically supports various local animal rescue groups as both a shelter volunteer and a foster mom for countless furry friends in need. Watching a shy or abused animal learn to trust again and blossoming is life altering. She cites this as some of the most rewarding experiences she has had.
Karon works at Washington University in St. Louis and lives in South County with an adult son. She shares her home with three amazing rescue dogs – Sophie – a Husky / Boxer mix, Jack – a Rat Terrier / Cocker Spaniel mix and Buddy – an American Bulldog / German Shepherd mix (who has recently earned his Canine Good Citizen certification). Karon’s years of experience with the care and handling of animals highlights her belief that animals depend on their human care givers to provide the very best care possible. That is exactly what she will do for your pets.
